Among the major speakers there were President of the European Court of Human Rights Jean-Paul Costa, ECtHR judges Anatoly Kovler and Francoise Tulken, President of the RF Constitutional Court, vice chairman of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Valery Zorkin, head of the Bulgarian Constitutional Court, member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Evgeny Tanchev, judges of constitutional courts of Russia, Germany, Hungary, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia and leading foreign experts.

The Committee Against Torture hopes that this forum will contribute to the establishment of mutual understanding in respect of application of international standards by Russian courts, as well as shatter the myth that Russian law cannot be coupled with European norms.  Presence of such reputable participants ensures agreements on the highest level, which will certainly facilitate integration of

European Court judgments into the Russian legal system.
