Today is the last day of a two-day training for militia officers conducted by the Interregional Committee Against Torture in Orenburg. This is not the first time that such training has been organized in the region. In 2007-2009 workers of the ICAT conducted trainings for criminal investigators, district police officers, officers of the Patrol and Point-Duty Service. This time the workshop is attended by a group of law enforcers from different bodies of the Orenburg Regional Directorate of the Interior.  Within two days policemen have learnt about human rights and European standards in this sphere. Besides, they have discussed the psychological aspects of conflicts arising between state agents and individuals. INGO “Committee Against Torture” hopes that constructive cooperation with the Orenburg Regional Directorate of the Interior will continue. We are sure that such trainings will help law enforcers to integrate into the reformed police system, improve their skills and attitude towards human rights protection.
