Today at 15.00 in Shizgara club (20 Rozhdestvenskaya Street, Nizhny Novgorod) there will be a round table. The discussion will focus on the burning problem of tortures in Nizhny Novgorod region and ways of solving it.

The participants will watch a short film on the problem of tortures and later engage in a discussion. The event will be attended by heads and representatives of Nizhny Novgorod human rights organizations and NGOs (Committee Against Torture, Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers, Public Monitoring Commission for Nizhny Novgorod region, etc.), as well as direct victims of abuses. Representatives of Nizhny Novgorod regional law enforcement bodies were also invited to join the discussion.

During the event everyone will have a chance to speak and pose questions to any of the participants.         

The Nizhny Novgorod office of the Committee Against Torture invites mass media and public interested in the topic to take part in the event.
