On 6 February 2007 the Supreme Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan will consider the appeal of NGO NN Committee Against Torture against the decision of the Kirovsky District Court.

You may remember that on 7 November 2006 judge L. Azanbaev of the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa City, Bashkortostan dismissed the complaint of NGO NN Committee Against Torture against the disposition of the prosecutor which  refused to open a criminal case against former inter-district prosecutor of Blagoveschensk City Ismagilov. 

The Kirovsky District Court of Ufa City already thrice dismissed the complaint of the Committee Against Torture, namely on 28 June 2005, 13 February and 7 November 2006. Twice the Supreme Court of the Republic dismissed the decisions of the Kirovsky District Court on appeal.

As you may know experts of the Committee insist that Mr. Ismagilov who in fact authorized unlawful actions of special police forces (OMON) in Blagoveschensk in December 2004, when dozens of peaceful citizens got injured, is to be punished
