Yesterday the Sovetsky District Court held the hearing of arguments under the case of Aleksandr Anoshin, which was publicly investigated by the NN Committee Against Torture. The public prosecutor asked the court to sentence defendant Maslov, charged with the crimes under Articles 105 §1 and 286 §3 of the RF Criminal Code, to 12 years’ imprisonment in a high-security colony, and defendants Antonov and Ageev, charged with the crimes under Article 286 §3 of the RF Criminal Code, to 4 years’ conditional imprisonment on 3 years’ probation.

    On 5 July at 10 a.m. the court passes the sentence under this case.

    You may remember that a lawyer of the NN Committee Against Torture is legally supporting relatives of the victim before the court. The Public Verdict Foundation (Moscow) – a partner of the Committee – has also contributed a lot for the advocacy of the victim.
