Today a two-day training for militia officers organized by the Interregional Committee Against Torture has come to an end in Ufa. Like the year before, the participants were officers of the Patrol and Point-Duty Service – those who on a day-to-day basis face conflict situations which make it easy to yield to the temptation of infringing human rights.   Within two days officers learnt about human rights and European standards of their protection. Besides, the participants discussed the psychological aspect of conflicts between law enforcers and the public. The Committee Against Torture hopes for the continuation of constructive co-operation with the Bashkirian Ministry of the Interior. It is sure that such trainings will help law enforcers to integrate into the emerging police system, develop their qualification and improve their attitude toward human rights.
