80 000 rubles to be paid by the RF Finance Ministry have been awarded to Sergey Antipin as compensation of moral damage. Mr. Antipin claimed 200 000 rubles.
You may remember that on 11 December 2004 Sergey Antipin, disabled of 2nd degree, was beaten up by district investigator Khamatdinov and criminal investigator Guilvanov in his own flat.
The policemen, among them there were also SPF officers, did not introduce themselves and did not explain the reason for their visit. Khamatdinov and Guilvanov beat the man up, made him get dressed and go to the Blagoveschensk City Department of Internal Affairs where the battery continued.
On 17 June 2008 the Blagoveschensk district court of Bashkiria found V.A. Khamatdinov and A.N. Guilvanov guilty of unlawful entry into Sergey Antipin’s flat and police abuse. The policemen were convicted under cl. «а» p. 3 art. 286 of the RF Criminal Code («abuse of office with violent treatment»).
Convict Guilvanov was found guilty of six crimes and sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment in a standard security penal colony. Convict Khamatdinov guilty of 2 crimes was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months conditionally.
