Today in the framework of the Social Council session acting under the SAIA of Nizhny Novgorod region chairman of the Committee against Torture Igor Kalyapin is going to propose an independent sociological survey about the attitude of the Nizhny Novgorod region population towards law enforcement bodies.

The Committee leaders suppose that opinion polls will help to obtain information necessary for the police to have a clearer idea about the citizens and their expectations of law enforcement bodies, as well as to improve their activity at the local level. E.g., this initiative will allow the police to define priorities taking into account the citizens’ wishes concerning the police activity and its quality. Besides, the poll will reveal the most challenging areas and will show the best way to allocate the resources in order to ensure public security.

Regular opinion polls on territories controlled by the State Administration of Internal Affairs will provide for a feedback, will allow obtaining prompt information about the situation in the districts and improving the quality of the police actions in Nizhny Novgorod region.
