The 26th of June is the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, declared by the United Nations Organization and commemorated all over the world by people who care about justice, aim at combating violence and cruelty, strive for the rule of law and sympathize with those who became a victim of tortures or violent treatment exercised by unprincipled law enforcement agents.
This year on June 26 the Multiregional Committee against Torture and its colleagues from Amnesty International invite Nizhny Novgorod residents and guests of our city
– to meet Mr. Evgeniy Sumin, a director from Moscow, during the single demonstration of his new documentary «SAVE PRIVATE MIKHEYEV»;
– to see the photo presentation prepared by the Committee against Torture and named «ONE OF FIVE» devoted to torture victims.
The Multiregional Committee against Torture invites you to take part in the activities confined to the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture that will take place on June 26, 2008 at 12 p.m. in the Nizhny Novgorod cinema centre REKORD.
