During personal appointment head of the RF Investigative Committee’s Investigations Department for the Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Vinogradov suggested that lawyer of INGO «The Committee for Prevention of Torture» Evgeny Chilikov provided the information available with human rights defenders on investigative departments the investigators and superiors of which allow for the red tape in their work. Appropriate application addressed to Chairman of the Committee Igor Kalyapin has already been delivered to the organization. Human rights defenders can only welcome such initiative of head of the regional Investigative Committee’s Investigations Department and shortly will submit a detailed summary to his address.

Head of department for reception of citizens and documentation support of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the RF for the Nizhny Novgorod region Colonel of Justice Irina Zakharova in her letter informs that under the instructions of Andrey Vinogradov she is performing the analysis of citizens’ complaints against the actions of the law-enforcement officers, submitted to the investigative department for the period from 2013 till the present time.
In this respect Ms Zakharova asks Igor Kalyapin to provide information on citizens’ complaints against the actions of law-enforcement officers submitted to human rights organization and sent to the investigative department for the Nizhny Novgorod region for examination in the above-mentioned period.
