    In the context of this Day regional NGO Man and Law organized a campaign in the framework of the joint project with the Multiregional Committee against Torture.

    Human rights defenders from Mariy-El handed out info booklets “Any one can become victim of a crime!!!”. They also sent a letter addressed Mr. Oleg. M. Doronin, head of the Investigation Department under the Investigation Committee of the RF Prosecutor’s office in Mariy-El. In this letter human rights defenders describe the situation with rights violations in the Republic and hope that by means of coupling efforts of the Investigation Committee and human rights organizations the situation with human rights will improve and there will be no need to apply to the European Court.

    Regional NGO Man and Law in cooperation with the Multiregional Committee against Torture has been engaged into prevention of tortures on the territory of Mariy-El for more than 6 years and this activity brings positive results.
