    Famous Nizhny Novgorod lawyer Yuriy Sidorov, one of the founders of the Multiregional Committee against Torture, is awarded a medal for his professional activity.

According to decision #4 of the RF Federal Lawyer’s Chamber Council dated March 20, 2008 re received a medal “For achievements while protecting human rights and freedoms”, 1 degree.

Mr. Sidorov is a lawyer of the Priokskiy district lawyers’ office of the Nizhny Novgorod region lawyers’ division and he is also employed as a lawyer at the Multiregional Committee against Torture.

Lawyer Sidorov’s efforts, his professionalism, his commitment to human rights protection have greatly influenced the success of cases initiated by the Committee against Torture.

Mr. Sidorov has won such famous cases as Alexey Mikheyev’s, Sergey Sankin’s, Sergey Oleynik’s, Gennadiy Denisov’s, Sergey Karpov’s cases, as well as many other cases of people who suffered from police abuse and unlawful police actions.
