The preliminary trial over the OMON (special police forces) personnel of the Sochi City Police Department charged with the abuse of power during the mass “mopping-up” operations in the Druzhba youth camp last summer has been held.

The court denied all motions of the defense concerning the revision of the judicial restraint.

The Lazarevsky District Court of Sochi City opens hearings on the merits on 13 March 2007 at 10.00 Moscow time.
