On 16-17 March 2007 experts of the NN Committee Against Torture and the Yoshkar-Ola City Human Rights NGO Man and Law held the first training session for criminal investigation officers of the Orenburg Regional Central Police Department. Skilled tutors and human rights defenders from Nizhny Novgorod and the Republic of Mari-El taught theory and practice how to deal with human rights and the system of the European Court, methods of human rights protection and showed vivid examples of cooperation between police officers and public activists.

The participants discussed the most burning issues of human rights and outlined the ways of future cooperation.
