The case of Alexander Anoshin’s homicide – a worker from Nizhny Novgorod, who was murdered by policemen in the detoxification center of Sovetsky District of Nizhny Novgorod in 2002 – which is at present being considered in the Sovetsky District Court presided by judge Zheleznov, is approaching its final stage.

On 24 January the parties of this criminal case will hold a hearing of arguments. It will be the last stage of the process before the judgment is delivered.

As you may know, the policemen charged with cruel homicide of A. Anoshin deny their guilt.

The NN Committee Against Torture, which after receiving a complaint from Anoshin’s relatives conducted a public investigation, is now giving them as victims legal assistance.

The Public Verdict Foundation, a Moscow partner of the Committee, has been of great help in providing the victims with legal aid during the process.
