The Committee against Torture has sent a pensioner from Nizhny Novgorod who suffered from police abuse during the Dissenters’ March for rehabilitation

The Rehabilitation Department of the Committee against Torture has sent two Nizhny Novgorod citizens who were subject to police abuse for rehabilitation.

Mr. Lyapin who was tortured with electricity by the Volodarsk police and Ms. Gremina, 70-year old participant of the Dissenters’ March in Nizhny Novgorod whom the police incurred physical and moral damage as a result of unlawful forced detention, will go to a health resort for rehabilitation organized by the Committee against Torture.

Both victims will take the rehabilitation course in Zelyoniy Gorod, a health resort in the vicinity of Nizhny Novgorod.

Earlier Mr. Lyapin took a course of remedial treatment in the Nizhny Novgorod hospital for war veterans, and today Ms. Gremina was sent for an in-patient treatment to one of Nizhny Novgorod hospitals thanks to the efforts of the Committee against Torture.
