The Multiregional Committee against Torture has concluded the check under Ms.Elena Belan’s application.
    You may remember that on June 18, 2008 Ms.Elena E. Belan applied to the Committee against Torture asking to render her legal aid and conduct a public investigation of the events of June 9, 2008, when she was allegedly battered by the traffic police of the Sovietskiy district.  
During the check the Committee lawyers did not obtain sufficient data to claim that Ms.Belan’s rights and legal interests had been violated by the police.
    Therefore the Investigation department of the Committee against Torture stops working with Ms. Belan’s application.
