Yesterday the Nizhny Novgorod region court tried the cassation appeal filed by Mr. Yuriy Sidorov, lawyer of the Committee against Torture, and the cassation criminal division delivered a decision cancelled the judgment of the Nizhny Novgorod region court judge dated 22 November 2005. That judgment found the ruling of Deputy Prosecutor Sergey Belov dated 22 August 2005 cancelling proceedings under №69949 unlawful and ungrounded. The case is submitted for a new trial to the Nizhny Novgorod region court.
