Today the Nizhegorodsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod has conducted a preliminary hearing under the criminal case against officers of the Nizhegorodsky District Directorate of the Interior charged with five crimes committed against Alexey Yakimov. The court considered the motions of indictees Timofeyev and Koreguin asking the court to terminate the case due to the lack of essential elements of offense and to exclude some evidence. The judge fully dismissed the motions. The court ruled that there were no grounds to stop the proceedings and the proofs collected during the pre-trial investigation were to be used for adjudication on the merits.   Next hearing will take place on 30 December 2009 at 1 p.m.
