The Bashkirian representation of the Interregional Committee against Torture has learnt today that junior sergeant Simukhin, security officer of the Oktyabrsky Department of Internal Affairs (Republic of Bashkiria) has been detained in Nizhny Taguil.  

Aytugan Utyashev, senior investigator of the Ufa Central Interdistrict Investigation Department of the IA of the Investigation Committee under the RF Prosecutor’s Office for Bashkiria has confirmed the information about the suspect’s arrest.

You may remember that on 2 May the investigation authorities started a criminal case upon the fact of murder of Albert Fayzylkhanovich Mukhamedzakirov, teacher of Russian and literature in a secondary school.

The murder was committed with a service gun belonging to junior sergeant Simukhin who was put on the wanted list after he fled.
