Today the world celebrates the day of the United Nations Organization. October 24, 1945 the Charter of the UNO entered into force. Since 1948 this day is celebrated as the United Nations Organization Day. Traditionally on this day discussions, meetings and exhibitions devoted to UNO achievements and targets are organized. In 1971 the UN General Assembly suggested that all member-countries make this day a national holiday.
The Committee against Torture has for a long time cooperated with the UNO in the framework of implementation of several projects on human rights protection in Russia. We would like to congratulate all UNO staff, human rights defenders, our colleagues, and all the people with the UNO Day.
