Tomorrow, on 20 June 2007 at 10 a.m. the Sechenovo District Court (Nizhny Novgorod region) brings in its sentence on three policemen of the Sechenovo District Police Station – Mr. I. Aymaletdinov, Mr. A. Sergeev and Mr. S. Shakirov – who were charged with the unlawful use of physical force against Gennady Denisov. Before the court passes its sentence, according to the procedure, the accused will be given the right of the final plea. The NN Committee Against Torture, to which the victim applied at a relevant time, carried out a public investigation, strived for bringing the case before a court and is now granting the victim legal aid. Lawyer of the Committee Yuri Sidorov represents the interests of Gennady Denisov. The Public Verdict Foundation (Moscow) has also contributed a lot for the advocacy of the victim.
