Today and tomorrow in Oktyabrskaya Hotel (Nizhny Novgorod) the Interregional Committee against Torture organizes a two-day training for Nizhny Novgorod region lawyers on the law and practice of the European Court of Human Rights under article 6 of the European Convention (right to a fair trial). In the context of this training, lawyers will learn about the European Court standards for a fair trial both for Russia and other member states. Besides, during the training lawyers are going to study the ECtHR case law and implement new knowledge in practice.

This training is part of the initiative called “Monitoring and education as a means of torture prevention in Nizhny Novgorod region” supported by the Global Opportunities Fund of the UK Foreign Office.
