Today vice-chairperson of the Committee Against Torture Olga Sadovskaya is taking part in the annual OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting – the biggest forum to discuss the implementation of human dimension commitments. This is a unique conference where representatives of civil society and governmental bodies participate on an equal basis. During two weeks OSCE delegations, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations meet together to discuss the implementation of OSCE human dimension commitments related to human rights, the rule of law and democracy.
In the course of today’s meeting devoted to the rule of law and in particular, prevention of torture in OSCE participating States Olga Sadovskaya will present a report on the use of torture in Russia outlining major problems for effective protection from torture and other forms of cruel treatment.
