At the present moment Warsaw witnesses the 2010 OSCE Review Conference on Human Dimension. This conference is a forum for OSCE participating States and representatives of international and national human rights NGOs to discuss the progress they have made in living up to the human rights and democracy commitments they have promised to adhere to during previous Summits and Committee of Ministers meetings.

This event is attended by hundreds of government representatives, experts and human rights defenders reviewing the progress they have made in implementing commitments relating to human rights and fundamental freedoms, the rule of law, democracy. The annual OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting is the biggest forum to discuss the implementation of human dimension commitments in Europe. The Committee Against Torture hopes that this year the conference will contribute to the assessment of states’ activities aimed at the implementation of human rights commitments and to the elaboration of new effective solutions.

As usual, the Committee Against Torture is present at this conference and is taking active part in working sessions and side events. Yesterday, on October 4, Vice-Chairperson of the ICAT Olga Sadovskaya delivered a speech the text of which you can find here.
