The Symposium is organized by the Medical School of Kocaeli University, Department of Psychiatry, Center for Psychological Trauma Studies,Istanbul University,the Psychiatric Association of Turkey and theHuman Rights Foundation of Turkey.

    Vice-chairperson of the INGO Committee Against Torture Olga Sadovskaya has left for Turkey to take part in the Symposium. The Symposium will gather medical doctors, social workers, lawyers and other professionals who will share information and experiences that can help them better understand trauma and associated psychological problems. The participants will also discuss psychiatric, psychological, sociological, historical, political and legal aspects of psychological trauma, its effects on community health and individual and public improvement.
