Ms. Sadovskaya is taking part in the Conference “Human Rights Council and the International Criminal Court: The New challenges for Human Rights Communications” organized by HURIDOCS, Human Rights Information and Documentation centre.
The Committee against Torture has partnership links with the Human Rights Information and Documentation System HURIDOCS, and Olga Sadovskaya is a documentation trainer.
The conference is supported by the United Nations Organization, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The purpose of this Conference is to reflect upon how information about human rights can be communicated more effectively by NGOs to institutions such as the Human Rights Council (HRC) and its Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The conference gives the participants the opportunity to examine the latest standards, tools and techniques for managing and communicating human rights information, to express their needs, and exchange experiences and lessons learned in this area. The conference is attended by more than 100 representatives of NGOs, international human rights organizations, universities, UN Organization, OSCE, International Criminal Court and the Council of Europe.
Ms. Sadovskaya will report on torture prevention in Russia, this information is contained in the reports presented by the Committee against Torture in the context of UPR to the UN Human Rights Committee and UN Committee against Torture.
